Does Robert Patterson Show A Sign Of Light For The DCU, Or Does He Pose A Threat?

The outrage among fans for the newly cast Batman actor, Robert Patterson, is real. Fans gone on social media platforms to express their feeling towards the DCU's decision, many of which are very upset about the new Batman. Fans have even gone as far as to starting a petition to make DC recast Batman. Many say this movie is destined to be a disaster, but what if it isn't?
The Hate to Batman
Lets take this back Three decades ago, Micheal Keaton was cast as Batman (1989) fans were also upset when he was cast to be the caped crusader. Many fans just didn't believe he had the look of Batman and also didn't have the feel to him either. Despite all the hate Micheal Keaton proved fans wrong and went on to make one of the best batman series in the 90's. Christian Bale also received negativity by fans for not looking the part of Batman. Fans also criticized him for just not seeming to ever be combined with batman but, like Keaton, Bale went on to make the best Batman series of his time. None of the other two actors received as much hate as Ben Affleck did. Fans thought his appearance and his body shape didn't fit the dark night. Fans also went after Ben Afflek's age and went on to say "he was too old for the role". Although his batman (DCU) movies weren't as good as the previous batman's, he still did his best had he had better writers and directors by his side he certainly would have made for another successful batman. Affleck did so well fans wanted him to stay when he decided to drop out of the DCU. Present day comes and yet again we have a new actor with YET again more hate.
The Unnecessary hate towards Robert Patterson
Many people know Robert as Edgar from the " Twilight" series, or as Cedric diggory from "Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire". One of the main reasons Patterson has received hate is for starring as Edgar in the "Twilight" Series. Although the feedback from viewers on the twilight series is mixed, many fail to realize that Robert took the role as Edgar to be recognized by the mainstream media. Evidence of this is shown when he went to talk about twilight on The Jimmy Kemmel Show, Jimmy told Robert that the movie series was one of the best and Robert sighed and responded by saying "well". Many don't realize that Robert has done other roles. Robert has stared in multiple Low-Budget films, most notably Cosmopolis in which he stars as a character similar to batman r. I'd recommend watching some of these movies because they show what a great actor Robert is. Fans have also gone after Roberts fatigue saying " he is too skinny fore the role ," this should be the least of concerns for fans. Many actors take on the role of super heroes out of shape but get right into the gym once cast. Robert has proven in other movies like "The Light House" he is able to change the shape of his body for a role.
The to Sum It All Up
At the moment, very little is known about the film. We have been given a director, Matt Reeves, and potential writers. The film seems to center around batman's younger self, the movie has set to ,potentially , include many villains like the penguin and the riddler. As of right now we only have Robert Patterson as an official part of the cast. Until we have the movie on the big screen, for now we can just believe in Matt Reeves as a director to not mess this up.
